Stacey Solomon been slammed for homeschooling her children by online trolls who assume she is stupid.
The bubbly Loose Women star, 28, has been teaching Zachary, 10, and Leighton, five, herself since September but revealed she has been accused of not being clever enough.
However, the Essex girl, who came third on X Factor in 2009 and won I’m A Celebrity. . . Get Me Out Of Here! in 2010, has 13 GCSEs and a number of A-Levels under her belt.
She said: “There were a few comments after I said I was home schooling the boys about how dumb I am and how dumb they would turn out.
“I already have an insecurity which is people saying that I am really thick because of my accent and my personality.
“All my life, even before X Factor, people have always thought I was stupid and dumb and not smart.
“But I have never said I was dumb and that is what people assume I am.
“It did really make me feel bad but I don’t know these trolls, they are insignificant and you have to talk yourself out of it.
“I know I am not dumb and I know I am not stupid and I shouldn’t be allowing anyone else to make me feel that way.”
Stacey has said of her education: “I always made sure I did well in my exams, passing 13 GCSEs. In fact I never failed an exam in my life.”
She said home schooling was “hard work” but had been “really positive in terms of the children’s development”.
She said: “At the moment they are responding to it really well and they are learning a lot more in a much more positive way.”
