STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were left stunned after a leaderboard-topping couple broke down in tears during the judges scores.
The hit show finally returned to BBC on Saturday, as stars took to the stage to strut their stuff, including Helen Skelton, football and Arsenal legend Tony Adams and food writer Jayde Adams.
But fans were left gobsmacked when Corrie actor Will Mellor and partner Nancy Xu broke down in tears when they go a leaderboard topping score of – making them joint first with Hamza and his partner Jowita Przystal at 34 points per piece.
Chatting to co-host Claudia Winkleman after performing about his teenage children’s reaction, the Two Pints star revealed: "Usually they’re mortified when I dance at parties, so I just hope they were proud of me, that’s all that matters to me, my family."
But when he received his score of 8, 9, 8, 9 from the judges, Will started crying as he said: "Mum I just hope I did you proud. This is for you and my dad. Sorry, I get upset."

Hear'Say's Kym Marsh is talked about her excitement for joining the rosta.
The singer, actress and presenter shared that this year isn't the first time she'd considered being on the show.
"I’ve considered doing Strictly for years but the timings never worked out. I’m so delighted that this year they have!

Celebs praise Helen for Strictly appearance
The presenter reportedly cried before making it on the dancefloor on Saturday night.
Helen Skelton took to Instagram to thank Gorka for the support, and all the families behind the scenes.
A number of famous friends commented beneath the post praising Helen for her performance, including 2016 GBBO winner, Candice Brown, former Saturdays singer, Una Healy and Gethin Jones.

Out-of-body experience for winner, Will
Actor Will Mellor topped the leaderboard on Saturday.
The 46-year-old has been a range of British classics and staples from Casualty, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, to Death in Paradise, Line of Duty and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
Taking to Instagram, on Sunday, Mellor thanked fans for the support and described the experience of dancing on Strictly as an "out-of-body experience."

Jayde Adams new she’d be on Strictly one day (2/2)
The comedian has been taking the comedic scene by storm for years, but what many don’t know is that she used to dance disco.
Jayde is determined to slam stereotypes.
Talking about people commenting on her weight, Adams said: "It’s part of my life. A woman can’t be on television without one of two things happening: either someone saying she’s ugly or fat, or they send her really disgusting messages."
"I don’t take any of this stuff lying down. I’m not a victim."
The 37-year-old made clear that a large part of doing Strictly is for her sister, with whom she grew up dancing.
"She would understand this. It will be bittersweet. All I know is I’d give it all up to spend a day with her. But that’s not possible so I’m just going to go and smash Strictly."

Talking to Emine Saner, Jayde talked about growing up with her dancing sister, Jenna.
She once turned to her sister, or mother and said: “I’m going to be on Strictly.”
She went on: "It’s what I know. I grew up wearing fluorescent costumes with crystals on them – that’s normal to me.
Talking about dancing with her sister, who passed away in 2011 at 28-years-old due to a brain tumour: "We used to go clubbing and do synchronised dance routines, and everyone would watch."

Strictly has come under fire in the past for only having male-female couples.
In a bid to represent people from all corners of the country, the show finally had its first same sex couple in recent years.
This year, the show has an all-female couple as well as an all-male couple, and some people took to social media to share their opinion on it, despite the existence of same-sex couples in across the world.

Returning Strictly judges
So much has changed since Strictly first aired years ago, including the judges.
The original line up included Len "sevEN" Goodman, Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, with Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth as presenters.
The only original judge, Craig, is back again, alongside former dancers Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and a national favourite, Anton du Beke.

New host for Strictly Takes Two
Rylan Clark has gone from strength to strength, presenting TV and radio since he first graced our screens in 2012.
The 33-year-old is the new host of Strictly's spin off show, It Takes Two, alongside professional dancer and presenter Janette Manrara.
Talking about the new gig, Manrara said: "I am so thrilled to be back hosting It Takes Two alongside the amazing Rylan!

The highly-anticipated new season of Strictly on Saturday, but some of the faces and names are still new to many viewers.
32-year-old Hamza Yassin is more regularly seen behind the camera as a wildlife cameraman on Animal Park and Countyfile.

Ellie Simmonds had ‘genuine fears’ over height difference with her partner
The fourth time Paralympic swimmer has been partnered with Strictly Come Dancing pro Nitkita.
Ellie has achondroplasia, and is 4ft tall, due to the rare genetic condition.
She told OK! magazine: “Yes, I’m nervous about what it’s going to be like. Nikita and I were chatting about it yesterday and we’re going to just see.
“It might look different, and my partner’s going to be tall and we’re probably not going to be able to hold the same poses, but I’m sure it’s going to work.”

Fans were all about Jayde and Karen on Saturday after their triumphant performance.
The star studded show has returned for its twentieth series, bringing 15 new dancing couples to the show with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman presenting with Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Balass, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke judging.

Wrong score
SHIRLEY Ballas accidentally gave Tyler West and Dianne Buswell a higher score than intended.
The head judge, 62, picked up the wrong paddle and ended up giving the couple a seven, despite her screen reading six.
