Is this the reason actor Danny John-Jules signed up to do Strictly Come Dancing – his business KMBA Productions was £21,468 in the red in 2017.
The 57-year-old Death In Paradise star stands to pocket £100,000 if he wins the dance contest.
Danny, 57, lives in a £1million terraced house in West London with his wife and Death In Paradise co-star Petula Langlais, 41, and their two children.
Danny has accused Strictly of making racist decisions. He said of the judges: “They always get rid of the black guy first.”
Danny, who is partnered with Welsh dancer Amy Dowden, is 8/1 to win.
We contacted Danny’s representative tonight.
After the pairings were announced, Danny tweeted: “I am now, officially an Honorary Welshman!
"I will only answer to the name, Barry John, for the course of my #Strictly journey.
“I can’t wait for @dowden_amy to put some of that #WelshFire into our dances.”
Other stars to appear in Strictly 2018 include Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, Steps star Faye Tozer, BBC broadcaster Kate Silverton, Katie Piper and Blue’s Lee Ryan.
Danny plays Cat in sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf.
Known for his flamboyant dress sense and sassy one-liners, Cat became one of the show’s most iconic characters, appearing in every single episode from its inception in 1988.
