Strictly Come Dancing may be airing on a different night this week thanks to the World Cup but there is still plenty of excitement surrounding the episode. Not only is it the quarter-finals, it is Musicals Week for the remaining couples who are battling it out for a place next week. Here’s a lowdown on the Strictly Week 11 leaderboard this evening, Friday, December 2.

Who is at the top of the Strictly leaderboard?

Fleur East and Vito Coppola –

Despite ranking third place on last week’s leaderboard, singer Fleur East found herself in the bottom two with comedian Ellie Taylor.

Nevertheless, she is back with partner Vito Coppola and ready to prove that she deserves a spot in the semi-finals.

She is going to try and win over the judges and the public with a Quickstep to I Got Rhythm from An American In Paris

The classic musical comedy starred none other than dancing legend Gene Kelly.

Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez –

This week, presenter Helen Skelton will be embracing her darker side with a Couple’s Choice routine to Mein Herr from Liza Minelli’s Cabaret.

She and dancer Gorka Marquez have had a turbulent time during Strictly, with some weeks wowing the crowds, with other performances falling flat.

Week Nine saw Helen near the bottom of the leaderboard with 29 points.

She danced an energetic Samba to Eso Beso but will she be able to score higher this time around?

Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima –

Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh missed out on last week’s show as she had contracted Covid-19.

Thankfully, she is now right as rain and back to perform, fighting for her place in the competition.

Her and Graziano Di Prima are going to be taking on the Cha Cha to the Fame theme tune.

She is crossing her fingers that her Cha Cha will earn her a “fab-u-lous” from Craig Revel Horwood.

Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu –

CBBC presenter Molly Rainford is no stranger to the bottom two but came middle of the pack last weekend.

Anton Du Beke was left feeling satisfied by her Argentine Tango as he told Molly that none of the other dancers could “hold a candle” to her, if she let herself go more.

She is showing off her fun side for Musicals Week, performing the Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from Chicago.

Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal –

Hamza and Jowita will Samba to They Live In You from The Lion King

Cameraman Hamza Yassin has been the dark horse of the competition, continually impressing the judges and viewers with his and Jowita’s routines.

The pair will be dancing the Samba to They Live in You from The Lion King but will he struggle with that all-important hip movement?

Will Mellor and Nancy Xu –

Week Nine was actor Will Mellor’s night as he and Nancy Xu got a near-perfect score of 38, thanks to their Charleston.

However, today is a different story with a new dance to challenge the pair.

They take on the Foxtrot to Sun and Moon from the musical Miss Saigon.

Strictly Come Dancing will continue on Saturday, December 3, at 5.40pm on BBC One.
