Strictly Come Dancing fans believe Nigel Harman and Katya Jones came moments away from kissing on Saturday night (November 25).

The former EastEnders star, 50, and Katya tackled the Rumba during week 10 of the competition, dancing to Celine Dion's All Coming Back To Me Now. The steamy dance saw the pair get up close and personal and they were awarded 33 out of 40 points from the judges.

After the performance, viewers took to social media to speculate about a near-kiss between the pair. One shared: "Was Nigel going to kiss Katya then or."

Another penned: "That was so hot Nigel & Katya." A third added: "Nigel and Katya are at it. #strictly" Someone else wrote: "Me looking to see if Nigel snogs Katya "in character" #Strictly."

Their electrifying performance came after fans tipped Nigel for the dance-off due to the routine he was given. The Rumba is notoriously tricky, with no celebrity yet to receive a perfect 40 for the dance in the show's 19-year history.

Presenter Claudia Winkleman has also pointed out that the routine is particularly hard for male stars. Fans were proven right just a few weeks back after Adam Thomas was eliminated from the competition after performing the Rumba.

Viewers also pointed out that Nigel had the "death slot" as he was the second person to take to the dance floor. Speculating online, one wrote: "They want Nigel out this week then… Rumba and the death slot."

A second added: "They may have given Nigel the hardest dance trying to get him voted out. Shirley will find something wrong with it she always says something negative about his routine but nobody else’s."

Another declared: "Oh god the producers giving Nigel a rumba and the death slot second on, they want him gone don’t they." While a fourth agreed: "while a fifth added: "They are trying to kill off Nigel with a rumba!!"

Nigel and Katya found themselves at the bottom end of the leaderboard, just one spot above Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu, who were awarded 31 points for their Cha-cha-cha. Former Corrie star Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola flew to the top of the leaderboard, receiving 38 points for their Argentine Tango.
