Nikita Kanda has been confirmed as the ninth contestants to join theStrictly line-up – and fans think they know who she'll be paired with.

Devoted Strictly enthusiasts have taken to social media to reveal their anticipations, expressing a strong desire for the TV presenter to be matched with seasoned ballroom expert Nikita Kuzmin.

As the BBC’s official X account (formerly known as Twitter) dedicated to the dancing competition show announced Nikita’s participation in the contest, viewers flooded the post with references to her and the professional dancer’s shared name.

“I guess we already know who her partner will be,” a viewer wrote.

A X user said: “Pair her with Nikita or this will be a waste of time.”

Another Strictly fan chimed in: “I think it’s only right she should be partnered up with Nikita.

“They would be a fun pairing.”

A separate person commented: “Please pair up Nikita with Nikita.”

“I don’t know why but I have a feeling she’ll be great,” another person wrote.

They continued: “I can see her being a front runner this season.

“By the way, producers have to pair her with Nikita, it would be so iconic!”

Nikita is best known for being the current host of the BBC Asian Network's Breakfast show after previously presenting the Saturday afternoon show.

The Birmingham-born broadcaster has interviewed everyone from the likes of Killing Eve star Sandra Oh, Bridgerton icons Kate Sharman and Charithra Chandran, to Marvel sensation Awkwafina.

In response to the BBC announcing her as a contestant, Nikita exclaimed: "I can't believe I'm going to be on Strictly.

“This is a dream come true. I'm still pinching myself.”

"I don't think it will properly sink in until I step onto the dancefloor.

“I can't wait to get glammed up and get out there. Throw the glitter on me!"

Nikita’s announcement followsEmmerdalestar Adam Thomas being confirmed as the eighth contestant to join the 2023 line-up.

The 34-year-old soap star from Manchester is best known for his role as Adam Barton in the ITV series.
