Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Carlos Gu was left sobbing on tonight's show, after he and his partner Molly Rainford received their highest score of the series so far.
The pair opened the show with a stunning performance of the Charleston to Hot Honey Rag from the musical Chicago, earning them lots of praise from the judges and an eventual score of 38 out of 40, meaning they beat their own score record.
As they received their scores, Carlos, 28, burst into tears as he hugged Molly, 22, and it was easy to see why it meant so much to him – as this is his first ever year as a Strictly dance professional.
Noticing his emotions, show host Claudia Winkleman said: "I have to say it means so much to you, but Carlos is sobbing because you are so happy with your highest score. I just wanted to note it."
Congratulating the couple, she added: "Well done to both of you."
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman about opening the show, Molly said: "I'm so happy as I was really nervous and felt like I was back in week one again. I was opening the show, especially on a week like this, so I just feel so blessed and grateful."
Claudia nodded before adding: "This is the one you wanted to do."
Molly and Carlos appeared on ITV's Loose Women this week, ahead of their performance, where they revealed that Carlos had put Molly on a "dating ban" to ensure her focus was on her dances and the competition.
Jane Moore asked: "One of you has put a dating ban on the other, which way around is it?"
Molly giggled as she explained: "So, it was so funny because everyone is always asking, they want to know who is into who on Strictly.
And I am always like 'What time do you have to date?' and then he was like 'No you're not allowed anyway, you need to be practising.'"
Carlos added: "Very strict."
Carol McGiffin went on to ask them the million-dollar question as they draw ever closer to the end of the series, with the coveted Glitterball Trophy in sight.
She asked: "At this point in time, do you secretly think that you have got a chance to win? Obviously, you have a chance, but do you think you will?"
Carlos admitted: "I don't think we are going to say we are going to win, but we are going to do exactly what we need to do to approach that Glitterball."
