Claudia Winkleman has been part of the Strictly family since 2004, joining as the It Takes Two host before joining the live shows alongside Tess Daly 10 years later. Her job is to speak to the celebrities following their performances and to keep BBC fans up to date with the leaderboard throughout the night. Express.co.uk has everything there is to know about Strictly star Claudia Winkleman’s life away from the cameras.
Who is Strictly star Claudia Winkleman married to?
Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman, 50, is married to film producer Kris Thykier, who is also 50 years old.
It isn’t known how long they have been together but they did marry at Marylebone Town Hall in June 2000 so it’s been more than two decades.
Kris has worked in the entertainment industry for several years and is remembered for his work on films like The Debt, Kick-Ass and Woman in Gold.
They share three children together, Jake, 19, Matilda, 16 and Arthur, 11.
Claudia rarely talks about her home life, preferring to keep that side of her away from the public eye.
But she did previously open up about life in lockdown, joking that she wasn’t sure “why or how” she and Kris were still together as she isn’t very domesticated.
She talked of his heritage having a part to play in why their marriage works as Kris has a Danish father and a Swedish mum.
Claudia shared she hasn’t ever had to cook Kris his meals or do any stereotypical wife duties.
She told The: “Kris is very Danish in his ways.
“So, it’s not up to me to make dinner, it’s not up to me to make lunch and it’s not up to him to take the kids outside to play catch.
“In 20 years of marriage he has not once asked me what’s for dinner.
“I married a feminist, my mother wouldn’t have let me not.”

Claudia is dedicated to her family as she was willing to miss out on presenting Strictly in order to be there for her son’s first day at university.
She told BBC’s Women’s Hour podcast: “I phoned the boss of Strictly quite dramatically and said, through tears, ‘Sarah, I love you. I don’t want to leave Strictly and Tess [Daly] and I have agreed we will leave together when they’re done with us, but if the first show is September 13, I’m out and you’ll have to go with somebody else’.”
So Claudia was relieved when she was told Strictly wasn’t to start for another week.
She added: “It’s not that I love him more than others love their kids, but this is something parents have to go through.”
Strictly Come Dancing wowed audiences yet again with some dazzling performances in week four.
Cameraman Hamza Yassin reached the top with a whopping 39 points for his Salsa, followed by Fleur East with her Tango which scored her 38.
Sadly, it was singer Matt Goss’ time to go as he was at the bottom with just 20 points for his Jive and was voted out of the competition.
Strictly Come Dancing continues every Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
