Molly Rainford discusses periods
Strictly Come Dancing runner up Molly Rainford, who is currently starring in EastEnders as Anna Knight, has revealed what she whishes she knew before she agreed to appear on the top rated BBC Saturday night dance contest. “I wish I knew that it would be much harder than I expected,” she exclusively told Express.co.uk.
“For sure. I think, I know this is a really funny thing to say, but I wish I knew about sticking to a good eating habit whilst on the show.
“Because honestly when you’re doing seven hours a day of just cardio and dance, once I finished it and went to a Christmas dinner I was like, ‘I need to start getting back into the gym.’ I’m eating what I want but I’m not doing any exercise,” she laughed.
“It’s like doing a big fitness boot camp,” she further explained. “That’s how I describe it. But yeah, I wish I kept up the good eating habits after.”
As an alum of the show, Molly is obviously watching but is finding it hard to pick a favourite this year due to the strong line-up. “It’s an amazing line-up really – so many strong dancers,” she confessed.

“It’s hard now because obviously I’ve made such good friendships with a lot of the pros…but I do think Ellie and Vito are amazing,” she confessed. “I think Ellie’s a super amazing dancer. They’re so good. Yeah, and obviously I’m always gonna be team Gu.”
Asked about this year’s Strictly contestant and her castmate Bobby Brazier, Molly revealed he didn’t ask her for any guidance.
“No, he didn’t really ask for advice,” she said. “But Bobby is so full of charisma and confidence. I just knew he would be fine anyway. But it’s so fun seeing him doing his thing because I know he loves to dance.”
Commenting on the fact that Bobby’s hip work hasn’t gone unnoticed, she laughed: “That’s the thing with Strictly, is that you discover something that you didn’t know you had. Hips are the number one thing on the show that you discover you have that you didn’t realise!”

Molly was speaking to Express.co.uk in her role as Ambassador for the Always For you Campaign which aims to educate young women about their early periods.
She recently went into the Lilian Bayliss School in London to talk about her own experiences in order to help make the girls more comfortable having conversations around their period.
Speaking about her own experience she said: “I was probably one of the first in my school year to get their period when I joined secondary school. I remember it being September so I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, I’ve just started a new school, not made loads of friends yet, I would just like to try to find my feet in this new place and I’m going through puberty and I’ve got my first period’.
“So I felt like that’s kind of the other reason why it was extra special for me to be a part of it, because I don’t think I really had that space. But what I did have was, once I’d experienced it, I could be the one that my friends came to kind of ask for advice or ask what, what they should be using where they can find [help] and things like that.”
