Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood received a backlash from viewers after his sassy joke at the expense of Tyler West. The surprising comment came after Will Mellor danced an energetic Samba to I Go To Rio by Hugh Jackman with his professional partner Nancy Xu. His hips proved very popular with Craig, but his unexpected remark irked some viewers.

Once Will and Nancy thrusted their way through their performance, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse were full of praise.

Craig was also a fan and described their dance as “hiptastic” and remarked: “There was so much hip content darling.

“I think you need to go backstage and teach Tyler a thing or two about that. Just saying darling!”

Fans were unimpressed with his typically cheeky comment though and some vented their anger on social media

Torisan posted: “Uncalled for, Craig #strictly,” as @Lightbebe tweeted: “I see Craig roasting Tyler there haha… #Strictly.”

Chantelle Capshaw shared: “Craig has got the digs today. first Shirley now Tyler #Strictly.”

Katie added: “Craig was a bit out of order then about the tyler comment…#strictly.”
