Body language expert Darren Stanton has discussed Strictly Come Dancing stars Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola's reaction to their win.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Roulette, Darren said that the dance partners were 'overcome with emotion' after lifting the Glitterball and that their 'chemistry was at an all-time high' during the final.
Darren said: "Ellie and Vito appeared absolutely gobsmacked over winning. The pair showed absolute elation and were totally in shock. The special thing about Ellie and Vito is that they are completely humble. I don’t think they ever thought it was in the bag for them. They never took their feet off the gas and kept on pushing all the way through."
He continued: "Vito was definitely overcome with emotion. He was almost speechless. His emotion was most genuine. One thing I often look for is inconsistencies in people’s speech, compared to their body language.
"When Ellie and Vito appeared delighted, their body language followed that. You can see non-verbally that the pair were being absolutely genuine. The fact it was all consistent with their emotions and non-verbal behaviour proves to me that they were being totally authentic.”
He also spoke about their chemistry: "Vito and Ellie’s chemistry has grown and grown over the course of the series, and was at an all-time high in the final.
"I don’t think you could get any closer in terms of chemistry and reciprocal liking. It’s almost like a volcano erupting in terms of energy and power.
"I did see it as a declaration of love and admiration towards Ellie. I think there is definitely lots of love and respect there between the two."
Ellie and Vito, who are rumoured to be dating outside of Strictly, beat Bobby Brazier and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell, and Layton Williams and pro Nikita Kuzmin in the final.
Speaking after their win, Ellie told hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly: "I actually genuinely cannot believe this."
Her pro partner Vito was emotional as she laughed: "This is the first time I've seen him cry. For once, you're crying more than me. This is for you!" But Vito told her: "Not this is for you," as he wiped away the tears.
In the final, Ellie was praised by Craig Revel Horwood for taking a risk with her Show Dance, after she apologised to Vito for messing up a lift.
He told her: "It's a terrible shame with the last lift because really that whole dance routine was just flawless up until that moment. That's the sort of beauty of live television, I think, and proving that taking a risk can or can't work out for you."
Ahead of the result being confirmed, Ellie was the favourite to win with the shortest odds in history to take home the trophy.
The bookies revealed Layton and Bobby had both seen their odds of winning the Glitterball Trophy take another hit, as Ellie's odds were slashed to just 1/12 – setting a new record for the most likely winner in Strictly history.
Layton was 9/1 in the betting, while Bobby was the rank outsider to go all the way at 18/1.
