Strictly’s Helen Skelton snubs partner Gorka in moment picked up by mic

Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton was seen firing a cheeky ‘snub’ at her pro partner Gorka Marquez after she was caught on an open mic.

In a video of overheard moments shared by the show's official account on Twitter, the secret mic moment was offered up to fans, showing Helen poking fun at her dance partner.

In the clip, Helen, 39, is seen getting into character and warming up to the music before their routine on Saturday.

As she stood with female backing dancers, Helen shot a look at her pro partner and quipped: "He wishes!" before getting on with the performance.

The cheeky comment shows the pair have clearly formed a close friendship during their stint on the show, where they are currently favourites to win the series.

The duo dazzled on the dancefloor in the iconic Tower Ballroom receiving a tremendous 39 out of 40 for their Quickstep to Mark Ronson & Amy Winehouse classic Valerie.

Notoriously hard to please judge Craig Revel-Horwood was booed for not doing what all his colleague did and awarding them a 10, as Shirley Ballas challenged Craig on his criticism.

Fans blasted Craig, claiming the pair were “robbed.”

One viewer said: "You were robbed tonight. Deserved a 40. Can't believe Craig gave Fleur a 10 and not you.”

A second blasted: "@HelenSkelton completely robbed of that 40 too. So disappointing #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly." While a third penned: "Should of been a 40. Fantastic dance! #Strictly."

Shirley Ballas struggled for words telling the pair: "Helen, how you have grown is beyond me. You have left me speechless. It was absolutely superb."

The couple finished the night second in the leaderboard, only to be beaten by Fluer East and her partner Vito Coppola who scored 40 out of 40.

After Helen and Gorka, 32, made it through Blackpool Week, with Tyler West the latest star to be sent packing, she took to Instagram to thank the dancers who performed with her and Gorka on Saturday and also took time to thank fans, writing: "Thank you for being on this crazy adventure with us! Thank you for getting us to Blackpool and beyond.” The Strictly Come Dancing quarter and semi-final face some schedule changes in December due to the 2022 World Cup.

A BBC spokesperson said in a statement: “The quarter final of Strictly Come Dancing will now air live on Friday 2 December and the semi-final will now air live on Sunday 11 December on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.”
