Strictly unveils BBC presenter Nikita Kanda as ninth contestant
Nikita Kanda has opened up about her childhood as she opened up about “failing a lot” at school.
The Strictly Come Dancing contestant made a return to the college she attended to speak to current students about her experiences in TV and on radio.
Sharing a post about the experience, Nikita said it was “humbling” to remember where she started but admitted she could cause chaos in classes.
In a snap shared on her Instagram page, Nikita posed with two teachers as they pulled a variety of funny faces.
She captioned the post: “I went back to my old school today. I was invited to give a speech to 500 students about my career as a broadcaster since leaving & never giving up on your dreams.

“It was a proper trip down memory lane. I was just as chaotic then as I am now.
“I knew all I wanted to do was work in media and be on radio&TV. I wasn’t the best student, I failed a lot but the teachers didn’t let me give up.
“They believed in me at a time when I didn’t. Mr Walsh and Mr Jones always had my back and I couldn’t of got through my school years/sixth form without their support.
“I can’t tell you how much I did their head in and used to talk in all my lessons distracting everyone.”
