Sunday Brunch viewers were delighted to find hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer back in the studio together but under social-distancing guidelines.
At the end of March, the Channel 4 show was forced to cancel the live shows in the studio because of the coronavirus pandemic.
And despite all obstacles, the duo had to adapt to new ways as they filmed the show via video link from the comfort of their homes, although the downfall was that the show was pre-recorded.
And much to our surprise, the pair appeared from the studio on Sunday, with a number of special guests including singer Tom Grennan.
Tim told viewers: ‘While we are excited to be here, we are also taking strict measures to ensure the safety of our guests and crew.
‘As you can see it’s just the two of us here, for now, we will be bringing a couple of guests on separately later on in the show.
‘There is never more than three of us here at any one time and we can make sure social distancing is possible at all times.’
‘We are working with a much smaller crew and we have reduced the numbers and contact, it is looking a lot quieter than usual,’ Simon added.
It appeared that the viewers were just as excited as the presenters to be back in the studio, with many taking to social media to share their excitement.
One viewer tweeted: ‘So much better that they’re back in the studio.’
Another commented: ‘Seeing Sunday Brunch back in the studio is strangely comforting. It’s another semblance of normality.’
While one added: ‘Yay Sunday Brunch is back and live.’
The new rules mean that members of the public are allowed to exercise as much as they want and you are now allowed to visit a family member or friend from a different household in a park as long as you adhere to the two-metre rule.
Sunday Brunch airs on Sunday at 9.30am on Channel 4.
