Superman & Lois: I’m On The Same Side teaser
The Man of Steel and the world-famous reporter face their toughest battles yet in this season of Superman and Lois. Following Lois Lane’s (played by Elizabeth Tulloch) shocking cancer diagnosis, Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) has his work cut out for him after his tense confrontation with new villain on the scene, Bruno Mannheim (Chad L Coleman). Express.co.uk recently caught up with Coleman to get the scoop on the episodes to come.
Superman and Lois’ new guest star has teased an epic battle to come between Mannheim and John Henry Irons/Steel (Wolé Parks).
The powerful new threat was first introduced at the end of the season premiere as the head of a new gang of villains, including Atom-Man (Paul Lazenby) and Onomatopoeia.
Later, Mannheim confronts Superman about the people he’s neglected during his time on Earth, but he’ll also have a bone to pick with Steel later on in the season.
“It’s incredible, it’s incredible,” Coleman teased. “Super intense, and he’s a great actor. To dance with him is a hell of a ride.”
“It’s going to blow your socks off. We’ve got great, great stuff together.”
Coleman was already familiar with his new co-star Parks, and brought some of their tension and familiarity over to the new series to build up their antagonistic rapport.
“I knew him a bit from All American,” he recalled. “And he was the love interest of my ex.
“So we spent one day on set, all day together at this high school reunion. And I love the dude.
“So I’ve got some unresolved stuff with him. But he’s incredible, yeah, we had the greatest time together, that’s for sure.”
Based on a minor villain from the comics, Coleman revealed Mannheim has been reinvented for the modern DC Comics drama.
He explained: “I love that he’s a family man. I love that it’s hard to read whether he’s a villain or someone who’s just incredibly misunderstood.
“Or someone who people are jealous of, or projecting their own narrow-mindedness on him. All of the above. It’s a thrill ride.”

Express.co.uk also spoke with Coleman’s co-star Parks, who confirmed Steel’s bout with Mannheim will have a huge effect on the relationship with his daughter Natalie (Tayler Buck).
“The big thing going into season three has been the revelation of Bruno Mannheim as the guy who killed the original John Henry,” he revealed.
“So that’s what’s really going to be the big driver of change between us.”
As for his upcoming battle with Mannheim, John Henry has still only just learned the identity of the man who murdered his alternative self from his original Earth.
While Clark is still trying to put a stop to his scheme to create supervillains with his Kryptonian blood, Mannheim could become Steel’s priority later in the season once Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) enters the picture.
“100 percent we’re going to butt heads,” Parks teased. “Starting episode four is when we start digging into John Henry’s past.
“He and Bruno are going to start going at each other. And it’s a whole season-long arc of that kind of stuff.
“And it’s great to work with Chad, Chad’s amazing. His voice… he brings a gravitas.
“This guy doesn’t have any powers, he’s a human being. But he also controls this hugely powerful gang, and there’s a reason he’s able to do that. There’s a ruthlessness to him.”
Superman and Lois season 3 continues Tuesdays on The CW in the USA and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
