Susanna Reid quizzes Rishi Sunak over HS2
Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid sparked backlash and was slammed by viewers for her “uncomfortable” interview with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Whilst at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, Reid was joined by Sunak to discuss a variety of ongoing issues and his plans for the future.
However, as their conversation kicked off, many viewers were left disappointed and fuming with Reid for not allowing Sunak to speak.
Taking to their X, formerly known as Twitter, accounts, user @JPepperrell slammed: “#GMB Susanna Reid you are a joke, like a child talking to a grown-up.”

Reid quizzed Sunak on the cost of living crisis, the NHS waiting list and strikes as well as whether the Manchester leg of HS2 will be shelved.
When being asked about the HS2, Sunak laughed and said: “We are having a good conference in Manchester.
“And we just announced at this conference that is a billion pounds for 55 towns across the country in the Midlands.”
Ignoring what he was saying, Reid interjected and asked: “Are you cancelling HS2?” with Sunak continuing his explanation.
She went on to ask Sunak about the HS2 line again, however, he slammed: “I am not going to comment on speculation.
“I am not going to comment on the speculation and they will see that I will take the time to make a decision for the country.
“I approach all these decisions in the same way, I will make the right long-term decision for the country,” but Reid couldn’t let it lie and spoke over him: “And when will you make it?”
“When we have gone through it properly, that is how I approach these things.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
