During her appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, Gabi admits that she’s still processing her heartbreak after getting dumped and having her privacy violated by the leading man.
AceShowbiz –Gabi Elnicki is still reeling over what happened in Zach Shallcross‘ “The Bachelor” season. During her appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s “Off the Vine” podcast, Gabi admitted that she’s still processing her heartbreak after getting dumped and having her privacy violated by Zach.
“I am not somebody that holds grudges towards people, I don’t hold resentment, I don’t hold anger,” the 25-year-old said in the Thursday, April 6 episode. “Do I think I’m going to be pals with Zach? No. Am I still angry and hurt? Absolutely.”
Despite that, Gabi shared that she hopes the best for Zach and his now-fiancee Kaity Biggar, who was in the Top 2 with Gabi. “He is going to hopefully marry one of my close friends and I plan to stay in Kaity’s life. And, you know, for me to hold hate towards him and anger and resentment – I’m hoping I can let that go at some point,” she went on to say. “But I do think that, at this point, I still feel violated. And I’m still getting over all of it.”
“It’s difficult because I only want what’s best for Kaity, but I don’t think that Zach is a bad person. I don’t think that he is a vindictive, mean person. I don’t think he meant to hurt me,” she continued. “I think he just did because he wanted to save his relationship with Kaity – that’s a person he loves and he wants to spend his life with. And so I can’t fault him for that.”
The Vermont native noted that she’s happy for the new couple, but if she ever notices that Zach changed his behavior toward Kaity, she wouldn’t hesitate to ask her friend to leave him. “If I ever see that not happening, I’ll be like, ‘Kaity, you need to walk away,’ just like I would do with any one of my friends and whoever they’re dating,” she said.
During the “After the Final Rose” special, Gabi revealed that she felt blindsided by Zach as she only found out that the leading man told Kaity about them having sex despite his own no-sex policy during Fantasy Suites dates on TV. “It’s a part of me that I’ll never get back that I shared with him,” Gabi told host Jesse Palmer at the time. “It’s extremely violating that the entire nation knows everything.”
When Zach joined them onstage, Gabi told him that she wished he would’ve “warned me that you were going to use my name and that you were going to tell everyone what had happened.” Feeling ashamed, she added, “I just thought it was between us. I thought it was love. I thought it was more than a TV show. I get it, sex sells, but now I’ve become a narrative.”
