The Chase viewers were floored when a team bagged £90k, but they reckon it was all thanks to one brainbox player.
The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Monday (August 1) with host Bradley Walsh welcoming four new quizzers into the studio.
As fans tuned in for the primetime programme, the former Corrie star introduced contestants Jonathan, Gemma, Charlotte, Barclay before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.
This week the quartet were up against The Dark Destroyer, Shaun Wallace, who tried to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers.
Barclay, a new dad, came up triumphs in his head-to-head with Shaun – bagging £83k and a place in the final.
His teammates Jonathan and Gemma did well too – bringing the total jackpot they were playing for a hefty £90,000.
And in the Final Chase, the trio managed to beat The Chaser and take home the whopping £90,000.
And fans watching the show at home couldn’t get over how well Barclay had done on the show.
“They can thank Barclay,” quipped one follower, while another added: “Barclay is immense!!”
A third said: “Final is Barclay vs Shaun.”
Echoing their thoughts, someone else penned: “Barclay! Barclay!! Barclay!!!
A fifth viewer proclaimed: “GET IN !! NINTY THOUSAND POUND.”
Another said: “That was the best episode of #TheChase I think I've ever seen. May apply and have a crack at this.”
