The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Summer I Turned Pretty. 

The Summer I Turned Pretty stars have opened up on their thoughts regarding the ending of season two’s penultimate episode. 

In Love Affair of the Amazon Prime Video series, Jeremiah (played by Gavin Casalegno) comforted Belly (Lola Tung) after her mum Laurel (Jackie Chung) slapped her after the house party got out of control. 

The pair then helped Conrad (Christopher Briney) study for his last final, taking a road trip together to ensure he got to his exam on time. 

As Conrad took the test, Belly and Jeremiah spent the day exploring Finch College which ended with them passionately kissing. 

It was terrible timing though as Conrad had finished his exam and went to tell them the good news when he saw them making out, much to his disappointment.

Opening up to EW, Tung explained that she didn’t blame Belly for what happened as she points out she previously tried to have a conversation about their relationship but he had fallen asleep. 

“I think that’s one thing that Belly had trouble with with Conrad, the communication aspect of it, so she feels safer and more heard in this relationship with Jeremiah,” Tung said.

“For her, it was a win. Obviously seeing Conrad shocked was like, ‘Aw, sorry you were in the dark about this, buddy.’ But I think it was a good Belly-Jeremiah moment.”

Meanwhile, actor Casalegno was left stunned after going through the script during the table read.

He joked: “I think I literally said, ‘Mic drop’. 

“I was like, ‘Oh, snap! Good luck with that. That’s going to be fun.’

“I knew on paper it was going to be just a wonderful scene, and then doing it was something completely different. It was fun.”

There is just one more episode to go in season two so there is still more drama expected to come.

With the grand finale called Love Triangle as well, perhaps it isn’t quite over between Belly and Conrad just yet. 

Thankfully, there will be more to come as well with The Summer I Turned Pretty being renewed for a third season. 

It isn’t clear when the drama is going to return though, with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes still ongoing. 

The Summer I Turned Pretty season two finale drops on Friday, August 18, on Amazon Prime Video.
