After wrapping up the three-way Knockouts, it’s now revealed sixteen contestants who made it to the Live Playoffs round, which will kick off on Monday, November 14.
AceShowbiz -“The Voice” aired its third and last round of Knockouts in the Monday, November 7 episode. After three weeks of Knockouts, every coach has used their only steal of the round, except for John Legend. However, that changed after Team Gwen Stefani lit up the stage during the episode.
Alyssa Witrado, Daysia and Sasha Hurtado went head-to-head and displayed vocal talent that was beyond their years. After the impressive Knockout, both Blake Shelton and John recommended that Sasha, who sang Ed Sheeran‘s “Make It Rain”, take the win.
“Sasha, every note you hit was flawless,” John gushed. “I loved your vibrato. Vocally, it was just a tour de force. Though, decision-wise for Gwen, I think it’s tough. But I think as a vocalist, I think Sasha was my favorite.”
Though Gwen confessed she had “no idea what to do,” in the end she went against her husband and John’s advice. Gwen said that she’s a hundred percent sure that Alyssa deserves a spot in the Live Shows following the artist’s flawless rendition of Queen‘s “Don’t Stop Me Now”. “With Alyssa, she’s just special,” Gwen said. “What I’m excited to see her do in the Live Playoffs is show what kind of star she really is.”
However, the coach’s decision left room for John to swoop in, which he swiftly did. The “All of Me” hitmaker couldn’t resist the opportunity and used his very last steal on Sasha. John’s team will be Sasha’s third team, as she was with Camila Cabello following Blind Auditions and then stolen by Gwen during Battles.
“Sasha deserved it, and I couldn’t let her go home,” John explained his decision to save Sasha. “She’s been so good throughout these rounds. She’s been stolen now twice, and she just hit every note so beautifully and with such precision and control. My team is shaping up to be winners. Team Legend’s gonna take the title this season.”
During the Monday’s Knockouts episode, it’s also unveiled that there are no more groups left in the competition this season. Sister duo The Marilynds was eliminated on Team Legend. The sisters showed off some great harmonies on a performance of “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol but it wasn’t enough to earn a spot in the Live Playoffs. They were up against Emma Brooke and Kim Cruse. John chose to keep Kim on his team after her performance of “Can’t Stand the Rain”.
The November 7 episode also saw Justin Aaron making it through on Team Gwen, Brayden Lape winning the Knockout on Team Blake as well as Devix keeping his spot on Team Camila.
Next Monday, November 14 marks the start of the Live Playoffs. In addition to Alyssa, Sasha, Kim, Justin, Brayden and Devix, Omar Jose Cardona, Parijita Bastola, Morgan Myles, Eric Who, Kique, Rowan Grace, Kevin Hawkins, Bryce Leatherwood, Kate Kalvach and bodie will give their best on the Live Playoffs round.
