Some brand new images of Daryl Dixon’s (played by Norman Reedus) highly anticipated return to screens for his own The Walking Dead spin-off have been unveiled. While the final instalment of the mainline apocalypse drama continues on AMC, viewers have already started to speculate what could be in store for the zombie killer when he makes his move to Paris.

New images from the set of AMC’s upcoming Daryl spin-off have revealed a brand new member of The Walking Dead family.

In the upcoming series, simply titled Daryl Dixon, the grizzled anti-hero will be heading to Paris following the survivors’ final battle at the Commonwealth.

He’ll be joined by a young girl, who was spotted kissing a horse and playing with a grasshopper in Norman’s behind-the-scenes snaps.

The name of the actress is currently unknown, though she is expected to have a major role as Daryl’s new companion in France.

Series lead Norman wasn’t giving away any hints, as he captioned the post with a horse, grasshopper and love heart emojis when he uploaded the photos to his Instagram.

However, many fans are convinced the girl could be the offspring of Daryl’s relationship with Connie (Lauren Ridloff), which has become romantic in the latest season.

On Norman’s social media post, @nathiathewitch asked: “Is this kid Daryl and Connie’s daughter?!”

@jay._jay11 speculated: “What if Daryl and Connie had a kid and the kid in the first picture is her, that would be crazy.”

And @myoneill1970 exclaimed: “Oh God, please tell me Daryl and Connie have a kid!!”

When the images were picked up on Twitter, @ProspectThis said: “Wish it were Daryl and Connie’s child… but then, what became of Connie…?”

“A CHILD? Padre gone global y’all,” @greeneslabtown quipped, seeming to agree the girl is most likely Daryl’s daughter.

@YetHeSmiles added: “Oooh a ‘Donnie’ offspring? Would be cool but far-fetched in Paris.”

“I can see them giving Daryl another child to help him that he grows close with.” (sic)

It’s very possible the girl is simply a young companion Daryl helps out on the dangerous streets of Paris once he finds himself in the French capital.

However, most fans seem to agree she is probably related to Daryl in some way, and their bond will get stronger as they battle their way through the European wasteland.

Unfortunately, her introduction may also pose some uncomfortable questions about Connie’s fate in the original series.

Actress Lauren is currently not confirmed to be reprising her role in any of The Walking Dead’s planned spin-offs.

Hopefully, she’s not among the casualties in these final few episodes of the last season, but there must also be a reason for Daryl to strike out on his own once his own series begins.

In addition to Daryl Dixon, the 11th season of the mainline series will also be followed up with the return of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in Isle of the Dead.

Plus, fans are eagerly awaiting the promised return of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) when he finally reunites with Michonne (Danai Gurira) in a spin-off of their own.

The Walking Dead season 11 continues Sundays on AMC in the USA and the following Monday on Disney+ in the UK.
