The Walking Dead season 10 will explore Michonne's legacy

Angela continued: ‘Michonne started off as such an isolated individual. She’s become someone who has had a giant impact on the other people in The Walking Dead story.

‘That’s a story we’re continuing to build as we speak. I’m thrilled we get to continue to work with Danai next year, because she’s been an amazing part of the show, and such a rock for our group.’

It was announced in February that Danai would be leaving The Walking Dead after playing Michonne since season three.

The actress is set to star in a ‘handful of episodes’ in the upcoming series before she departs and fans are struggling to cope with the news of her departure.

Danai revealed that she’s gearing up to shoot her last episodes, telling NET-A-PORTER’s digital magazine PorterEdit: ‘We start shooting soon, so I’ll have to start fitting in my workouts.’

The 41-year-old Avengers star added: ‘I have a really beautiful family in The Walking Dead. We have pot luck dinners. We go to each other’s homes. We check in with each other.’

The Walking Dead season 10 is expected to kick off later this year. You can watch the ninth season on NOW TV.
