This Morning fans were more than heartbroken as they tuned in to listen to the harrowing and upsetting interview of a grieving father.

Guest Mariano Jannin joined ITV hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on the programme to speak about his daughter Mia, who tragically took her own life in March 2021.

The dad of the late teen believes that his daughter had been bullied online the night before her death and urged parents to ensure that they had access to all social media platforms for their own children.

Mariano was pleading with leading online companies for access to the messages on his daughters to phone so that he could have closure and clarity over the situation.

During the discussion with Alison and Dermot, he said: "I believed she had a really bad day at school, first day.

"And then by social media, because she was up until late night online, but the problem is we need access to the phone."

He continued: "In a way, I need to get closure, so I need to find what happened to Mia.

"And I want to know the truth and then I would like to get justice if I can."

Presenters Alison and Dermot wanted to learn if Mia's school had been heavily involved with helping to get to the root of what had happened.

Mariano told them: "Well, the relation with the school was very poor actually. The school was non-existent after Mia passed away."

He also went on to say that it is just him who continues to put up a fight for Mia's justice as his wife sadly died just four months after the death of their daughter.

This Morning fans were left concerned for Mariano who they described as "broken" and the situation as "heartbreaking" as well wishes flooded in on Twitter.

One person posted: "This father looks so broken! Understandably, sending hugs."

A second penned: "Oh my goodness this poor man," while another added: "This poor man! Truly heartbreaking."

"That poor man. Utterly heartbreaking," said a fourth.
