Top Boy, Downton Abbey and Cold Feet stars team up in first look at new ITVX thriller Riches | The Sun

ITVX has released an explosive first look at new star-studded drama series Riches.

The six-part thriller stars the likes of Ted Lasso’s Sarah Niles, Cold Feet’s Hermione Norris, Downton Abbey’s Brendan Coyle, supermodel Jourdan Dunn and Top Boy’s Adeyinka Akinrinade.

Riches, which is written and created by Abby Ajayi, will drop its first trailer on Friday night during I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and is set for release on 22 December.

The new drama follows the exploits of the stylish, privileged and super-successful Richards family led by London-based business mogul Stephen Richards, played by Holby City legend Hugh Quarshie.

However, with his sudden death, his family are left in disarray at the return of his estranged American daughter and son, Nina and Simon, played by Deborah Ayorinde and Emmanuel Imani, from New York.

Their arrival soon causes a messy showdown with Stephen’s wife, Claudia, played by Sarah, and the children from their marriage – Alesha, played by Adeyinka, Gus (Ola Orebiyi) and Wanda (Nneka Okoye) as they vie for control of the family black hair and beauty empire, Flair & Glory.

The new series will also see British supermodel Jourdan, 32, star as Davina in her breakout acting role.

Creator Abby, who worked on How To Get Away With Murder and Four Weddings and a Funeral, previously described the drama as a "love letter to Black London."

She added: "It has been thrilling to create the Richards' family and celebrate their opulence, their ambition, and their immigrant grit."
