The state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II drew millions of viewers from around the globe on Monday who tuned in to pay their respects to the late monarch. In her broadcast for the event on TalkTV, presenter Vanessa Feltz couldn’t help shedding a tear as she remarked on the profound occasion.
TV broadcaster Vanessa was moved to tears as the Queen was laid to rest on Monday.
Following the committal service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, the presenter spoke to royal commentator Emily Andrews and Richard Tice on TalkTV the same evening.
Vanessa could be seen resting her head on her hand as she fought with her emotions during the footage.
She couldn’t help looking overcome with sadness as Emily talked about the moment the Wand of Office was broken and laid on the Queen’s coffin.
Remarking on the finality of the service, she commented: “It’s all a bit much, isn’t it?
“Even though we’re not seeing it. This is somehow…”
The guests agreed and Vanessa had a wobble in her voice when she added: “We’ll never see her again.”
Thankfully, Emily was clearly prepared for tears and discreetly brought out a tissue for the presenter.
Vanessa mouthed a “thank you” and dabbed at the tears in her eyes.
Keen to focus on the positives of the event, Richard remarked on the incredible achievement of the thousands of people who helped make the service possible.
He consoled Vanessa: “It is finality but equally we should draw pride from what our military, so many people…
“I mean, thousands of people have played a part in today and it’s shown off Britain at its very, very best.”

“It is all over the world, four billion people thinking, ‘Wow – no one else could do that except Britain.’”
An estimated four billion people may have tuned in for the funeral on Monday, which would make it the most-watched television event in history by a wide margin.
In the lead-up to the service, Vanessa took shots at protesters and urged people to “maintain decorum” on This Morning during the period of national mourning.
“Discussions about redundancies or inheritance tax are absolutely valid,” she told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
“I think protests are valid, free speech is imperative and extremely important.
“But I also think, it’s perfectly possible, as people do in their own lives, to maintain a certain level of decorum, in the discussion quite frankly, until Monday is over.
“And when Monday is over, and the grieving process for the Royal Family, then they’ve got several more days for mourning for themself, we will realise they’re going on and appreciate and accept and everything else.
“And then let the discussions rage, why not, but I really feel, just in terms of manners, what’s appropriate.”
Vanessa Feltz hosts weekdays from 4-7pm on TalkTV.
