Fans were hoping to see Floki (played by Gustaf Skarsgård) alive and well in the first half of the final series but sadly this was not the case. Floki has been part of Vikings since season one of the show in 2013 and his absence was strongly felt so, will Gustaf return for the final 10 episodes?

Will Gustaf Skarsgård return for Vikings season 6, part B?

At the moment, there has been no news of Skarsgård’s return for the final 10 episodes of Vikings.

However, Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) is in a desperate search to find his friend and is even travelling to the so-called golden land – thought to be present-day America – in an attempt to find him.

At the end of Vikings season five, Floki was trapped in an Icelandic cave and as far as viewers and his followers are aware, he was unable to escape.

Things took an interesting turn when Kjetill Flatnose (Adam Copeland) teased an uncertain fate for Floki, telling Ubbe: “You can search all you want, you will not find him.”

Suspicions were also raised when a new character, Othere (Ray Stevenson) revealed to Ubbe he was once a Christian monk called Athelstan (George Blagden), the same name of a character killed by Floki back in season three.

Pretending to be a Norseman in Iceland, he adopted the name Othere, who he claims was the name of a wanderer he killed.

Athelstan is important as he has significant ties to the missing Floki.

Othere also seems to know about Floki’s whereabouts, handing Ubbe his friend’s wedding ring, explaining his disappearance was because he “had no hope left for humanity”.

Beforehand, Othere said to Flatnose “and what of Floki?” To which he replied: “He [Ubbe] does not need to know everything” which raised serious suspicions of Othere between Ubbe and Torvi (Georgia Hirst).

He said: “How we pick up with Floki is something that must remain under wraps because it’s so important and so emotional and so fantastic.”

When pushed further on whether Floki is actually alive in the show.

But he wouldn’t give anything away, as he teased: “Well, I can’t say… that would be a spoiler.”
