Subscribers were shocked when Virgin River heartthrob Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) was shot at the end of last year’s horrifying second season finale. While the mystery of who pulled the trigger will continue into the Netflix series’ third season, a new post on Instagram has seemingly confirmed his survival.
The official Instagram page for Netflix’s phenomenal small town romance Virgin River may have answered one of the biggest concerns plaguing fans following the end of season two.
In the final moments of episode ten, ‘Blown Away’, Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) is shocked to discover Jack bleeding on the floor of his bar.
While viewers have already compiled a long list of potential suspects, they won’t be getting any answers until the series returns at an unconfirmed time.
Moreover, it is still unclear whether Jack will survive the ordeal, considering the severity of the gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Whether or not he survives, Mel is in for a tough time during season three as her potential romantic partner is at least set for an extended stay in hospital in order to recover.
Thankfully, it appears viewers’ biggest worries have been quelled by Virgin River’s latest social media update.
A new post on the series’ official Instagram page seems to have revealed a new still of Martin Henderson as Jack from season three.
They kept things ambiguous by captioning the new post: “Anyone missing Jack?”

The show’s cryptic caption could suggest fans who are missing Jack won’t need to wait too much longer until he’s back on screens.
Alternatively, there’s a slim chance the post is actually hinting at his death, though most viewers agreed this was unlikely.
Naturally, the latest update was soon met with responses from the show’s eager followers down in the comments.
A number of viewers simply responded that they were, indeed, missing Jack’s presence on their TV screens during this extended hiatus.

One viewer said: “Yes, but only if Jack and Mel finally get it together.”
While another Instagram user pleaded the series: “I need to know he’s ok!”
Additionally, plenty of fans still admitted they were unsure if Jack will actually pull through at the start of season three.
“He better survive,” responded one viewer. “I don’t think Mel could live without Jack at all.”
And a final user said: “Mel better have been able to save him. I am not here for him to be gone.”
Luckily, Mel was the first person to find him, and her medical expertise was on hand to buy him a little more time before getting rushed to the hospital.
Netflix have yet to confirm when season three will finally premiere, but Virgin River’s latest teaser has hopefully confirmed the series won’t continue on a downer note.
