Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy has been a firm part of ITV soap Emmerdale for two decades after she joined as Laurel Thomas. Her character Laurel has had lots of ups and downs over the years as she’s battled with alcoholism and various romances. Laurel is also mum to Arthur (Alfie Clarke) and Dotty (Ellerie Carroll), whom she had with her late husband Ashley (Jon Middleton).

Does Charlotte Bellamy have children?

Charlotte has three children Sunnie, Herbie, and Teddie Boo Florence with her husband Mungo Denison, whom she wed in 2012.

She previously spoke about her children’s unique names, saying: “I was inspired by my partner, because he’s called Mungo – I seem to like names that are a little out of the ordinary!”

“We pick them from random places, such as fields or somewhere we’ve heard other people mentioning.”

The actress added to Inside Soap: “For example, I heard someone call her child Herbie about 10 years ago, and loved it.”

Charlotte and long-term partner Mungo were together for 18 years before they got hitched in 2012.

Their nuptials came after the birth of their three children and was reportedly a last-minute decision on the couple’s part.

She said about the wedding, in which she spent a mere £60 on a dress, “We sat there at breakfast and said to the kids, ‘We’re getting married today’, and they were like, ‘What?'”

The star continued: “Suddenly it seemed like the right thing to do and we wanted to do it our way.”

Charlotte said a big wedding wasn’t really her or Mungo’s “style” with the pair plumping for a low-key ceremony at the local registry office.

She generally keeps her life away from the cameras private and doesn’t appear to have an Instagram account.

Charlotte also sporadically posts on her Twitter account and previously praised her husband for his work on the 2021 New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

Mungo is the co-founder of SKY MAGIC Drone Shows, a company which produces spectacular light shows using dones.

She posted on Twitter to her 71,000 followers: “Very proud of my hubby and everyone ⁦@SkyMagic0420⁩ what an amazing show.

“Follow these guys to see more of what they do. It’s insane #SKYMAGIC #performancedrones.”

In another tweet, she wrote: “A little bit proud of the hubby last night and their incredible team ⁦@Skymagicdrones ⁩ for the drone show that saw in 2021. You ALL smashed it.”

Charlotte also seemed to be a proud soap mum after she re-tweeted a post from Emmerdale in 2017, which celebrated her co-star Alfie’s win at the Inside Soap Awards.

While Charlotte’s family life is drama-free, her onscreen alter-ego Laurel has been on a rollercoaster ride.

Most recently, Laurel and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) decided to give their relationship another shot when he realised he still had feelings for her.

The pair are tentatively taking steps to get back towards trusting each other but it appears they will have a long road ahead.

Laurel, like the rest of the village, is also coming to terms with the recent devastating storm which rocked the Yorkshire Dales and left a terrible trail of destruction in its wake.

Emmerdale continues on ITV tonight at 7.30pm
