Fans of the Law and Order franchise are going to be getting a special three-hour premiere event this evening (September 22) on NBC in America. All three shows Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU), and Law & Order: Organized Crime will be having a giant crossover with cast members from all the programmes interacting with each other and so there will be a huge cast across the three episodes.
Each of the three hours will serve as a premiere for the various Law & Order shows, starting with Organized Crime (season three, episode one), SVU (season 24, episode 1), and the original Law & Order (season 22, episode 1).
The story will run across the episodes and conclude in the final instalment before each of the shows then goes their own separate ways and continues to tell different stories.
NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i did something similar this week with a two-hour special crossover, which saw the casts from both shows coming together to solve a case.
Here’s a rundown of the cast for the Law & Order: Orgaznied Crime season 3 opener and what fans can expect from Gimme Shelter as the team goes on the search for a young girl’s killer.
Who is the cast of Law and Order Organized Crime season 3, episode 1?
Detective Elliot Stabler – Christopher Meloni
Christopher Meloni reprises his role as Organized Crime’s lead Detective Elliot Stabler as he works with another department to find a murderer.
Meloni was originally part of SVU before he fronted Organized Crime from 2021 with some of his other roles including Harley Quinn, The Handmaid’s Tale, Maxx, and Happy!, among other projects.
Olivia Benson – Mariska Hargitay
Fellow Law & Order heavyweight Mariska Hargitay will be back as Olivia Benson from SUV to work with Stabler.
She has also appeared previously in the other Law & Order shows as well as featuring in Chicago P.D., Prince Street and ER.
Nolan Price – Hugh Dancy
British actor Hugh Dancy reprises his role as assistant to the District Attorney in Manhattan, Nolan Price, who will be trying to get a conviction.
Dancy’s past credits include Hannibal, Homeland, The Good Fight, Downton Abbey: A New Era, and The Path.
Jack McCoy – Sam Waterson
Sam Waterson stars again as the District Attorney of Manhattan Jack McCoy, who is trying to take down the perpetrators behind the death of a young girl.
Waterson’s has had an esteemed career which includes The Killing Fields, The Great Gatsby (1974), Grace and Frankie, The Dropout, and The Newsroom.
Sergeant Ayanna Bell – Danielle Moné Truitt
Danielle Moné Truitt returns as Sergeant Ayanna Bell, who will be assisting Stabler on the case.
Truitt’s previous work includes SVU, TV shows Deputy, Rebel, Chicago Med, and lending her voice to the role of Georgia in The Princess and the Frog.
Detective Jet Slootmaekers – Ainsley Seiger
Ainsley Seiger portrays Detective Jet Slootmaekers, the technical whizz who will be gathering evidences from phones and computers.
The up-and-coming actress has previously starred in SUV with the role in Organized Crime marking her biggest role to date.
Lieutenant Kate Dixon – Camryn Manheim
Camryn Manheim will be taking on her Law & Order role again as Lieutenant Kate Dixon as she crosses over into Organized Crime.
The veteran American actress has roles in many films and TV shows in the past including Stumptown, The L Word, The Magicians, Waco, Person of Interest, and Extant.
Detective Jalen Shaw – Mehcad Brooks
Mehcad Brooks will be venturing into Organized Crime as Detective Jalen Shaw, who works with Stabler with the role marking his most high profile credit after starring in Blissfully Unmarried.
Detective Frank Cosgrove – Jeffrey Donovan
Jeffrey Donovan is turning up as Law & Order favourite Detective Frank Cosgrove with the actor previously appearing in Burn Notice, Fargo, Touching Evil, Shut Eye, and Sicario 2: Soldado.
Detective Violet Yee – Connie Shi
Connie Shi takes on the part of Connie Shi and will be most familiar to audiences for her roles in And Just Like That, Betty, Everything’s Trash, and Unbreakable Jimmy Schmidt.
Sam Ellis – Stephanie Gunn
Stephanie Gunn plays Sam Ellis with the actress starring in City on a Hill, short films Zero and Rear View prior to this.
Mark Sirenko – Beau Knapp
Beau Knapp is Mark Sirenko and viewers may recognise him from The Lost Symbol, The Good Lord Bird, L.A.’s Finest, Borrasca and Netflix drama Seven Seconds.
John Kent – Vinny Randazzo
Vinny Randazzo will be starring as John Kent after appearing in WeCrashed on AppleTV+ and The Irishman: Little Italy Takeover.
Other cast members include Jaci Maite Calderon as Nicole, Geoffrey Allen Murphy as Matvey
Andrew Yackel as Vince, Sheldon Ingram as Deputy Mayor, Steven Strickland as Head Of JTTF, and Erika Barker as a journalist.
Law & Order: Organized Crime season 3 airs on NBC in America tonight at 8pm Eastern Standard Time and 7pm Central Time. A UK air date has not yet been announced.
