The star of MTV’s reality series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, now knows exactly when he will be hitting the prison gym and begin serving his time behind bars for tax fraud.

In January 2018, he pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion and admitted that he did hide some of his income to avoid paying the full amount of taxes owed on it in 2011. He told the court that the deposits he made in the bank were under $10,000 so the IRS would not be alerted and catch on. Sorrentino expressed regret saying he was “deeply sorry” for his actions before U.S. District Judge Susan Wigenton sentenced him.

Here’s when “The Situation” will need to report to the Bureau of Prisons, how long he will be locked up, and the big plan he has before he surrenders.

When he needs to report

The reality TV star has learned that his date to report to prison and start serving his term has been pushed back to 2019.

The website NJ. com reported that a request extending time for voluntary surrender was filed in the U.S. District Court by Sorrentino’s attorney, Henry Klingeman, and granted by the judge. Klingeman said he put in the request so his client could spend the holidays with his loved ones before surrendering.

The order means that the Jersey Shore star will have to surrender to authorities on Jan. 15, 2019.

When asked how “The Situation” was doing, Klingeman said he was “doing great under the circumstances. He’s nervous but resolved to see this through as he has been since he got sober.”

For how long?

In October 2018, Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison. He must also serve 500 hours of community service and was ordered to pay $123,913 in restitution and $10,000 in fines. His brother, Marc, was sentenced to 24 months behind bars for his role in the case.

After sentencing, “The Situation” shared a photo on Instagram outside the courthouse with his Jersey Shore castmates including  Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Cortese, Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

Prior to his sentencing, Sorrentino and his fiancée, Lauren Pesce, had been planning their wedding and now we know that they will be tying the knot before he goes away.

Sorrentino revealed on social media that he and Pesce will be getting married in November.
