The Deceived is a psychological drama from the creator of Derry Girls, Lisa McGee.

The story follows a young Cambridge student, Ophelia Marsh, who has an affair with her married tutor. Ophelia, following the death of her mother, travels to his home in Donegal to profess her love for him.

However, her tutor will stop at nothing to keep the affair a secret.

The series explores the dangers of “gaslighting, of infiltrating another’s mind and how that can affect a person,” and is set in Cambridge and in Donegal.
