TAKE That star Mark Owen raised eyebrows this week with a striking new look.
The singer adorned the walls of teenage bedrooms all over the country in the 90s, but was barely recognisable on BBC Breakfast in his grandad cardigan with long hair and a new moustache.
Presenter Sally Nugent told him: “You look different" – an observation numerous Twitter users pointed out was an understatement.
Mark said the moustache started off as a beard but went a bit patchy on one side, and admitted his kids are desperate to shave it off but he has to keep it because it appears in a video for one of his new songs.
To be fair Mark was just a fresh-faced 18-year-old bank employee when he joined Take That in 1990.
Now he’s a 50-year-old dad-of-three, happily married to former actress Emma Ferguson.

The couple have had their ups and downs. In 2010, Mark admitted to cheating on her with up to 10 different women while on Take That’s reunion tour following their Beautiful World album.
The couple had only been married for three months when the infidelity emerged.
He told The Sun he blamed it on a long battle with alcohol and said he was "deeply sorry" for the pain he caused Emma.
As Mark launches a solo album we take a look at other 90s stars whose looks have dramatically changed over the years.

Paul Nicholls
Paul hit the front cover of every teen magazine after starring in EastEnders.

His portrayal of a young man with schizophrenia went on to win him plum roles in The Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, Grantchester and as smuggler Jed in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

But his personal life was a mess. He publicly battled depression and drug addiction and said he partied so hard he could barely recall his time on EastEnders.
Bolton lad Paul, real name Gerard Paul Greenhaulgh, then suffered a near-death experience on holiday in Thailand in 2017.
He spent three days trapped at the bottom of a waterfall after falling and developed 37 infections including malaria, cholera and dengue fever. They caused him to have a stroke in 2019.
There was also a cancer scare in 2016 when doctors found a tumour in his throat, which luckily turned out to be benign.
Paul’s love life has also been disastrous. After reportedly dating soap co-stars Martine McCutcheon and Daniella Westbrook he settled down with model Chantal Brown, but they split in 2015.
Paul then found love with former exotic dancer Hemma Kathrecha but has refused to say whether they are still together.
After being drugs-free for years Paul, 43, had a relapse during lockdown but is now back on track.
He will play lorry driver Carl in a new school drama called Phoenix Rise, to hit BBC iPlayer next year.
Adam Rickitt
Ex Hollyoaks star Adam became an overnight heartthrob when he joined Coronation Street as Nick Tilsley in 1997.
Adam left the cobbles to pursue a music career which never really took off. In 1999 he fainted mid-song during The Prince’s Trust Party in the Park after an audience member sprayed some sort of gas onto the stage.
Adam returned to the soap in 2003 when he was part of Corrie’s first same-sex kiss.
In 2014 he became part of the supergroup 5th Story, who took part in the second series of The Big Reunion with Gareth Gates.
As a 16-year-old Adam suffered from bulimia and once weighed just six stone. He bravely opened up being sick up to 30 times a day to help others.
Adam this month revealed how scammers stole almost £50,000 from him in an elaborate bank sting.
Thankfully, Adam, 44, has had better fortune in his love life. He’s been with wife Katy Fawcett for nearly eight years after the Good Morning Britain correspondent was sent to interview him.
Adam is unable to have children due to an autoimmune disorder which causes a type of arthritis, but the couple, who run a pub in Cheshire, are trying IVF.
Tim Vincent
With his chiselled looks and perfect eyebrows Tim Vincent won an army of fans as the 90s host of Blue Peter.
He also had a part in Emmerdale in 2000, playing Adam Forrester who got caught up in a love triangle with Marlon Dingle after they both fell for Tricia.
Tim, 49, later admitted he found acting “soul destroying” at times as he waited around for filming.
He competed on Dancing on Ice in 2008.
Vincent and partner Gemma Childs have two-year-old twin boys and moved to America for a few years where he presented Access Hollywood.
He still works as a presenter and reported on the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie, for the show.
Jeremy Edwards
Jeremy became a pin-up starring as Kurt Benson on Hollyoaks in 1995.
He left after four years and took up the role of nurse Danny Shaughnessy in Holby City.
He was one half of a celeb power couple with S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens in the early 2000s, but they split in 2004, leaving Jeremy heartbroken.
He blamed their break-up partly on the death of his co-star Laura Sadler, who died suddenly after plunging 40ft from a balcony while watching the sun rise at her boyfriend’s home.
He said he began drinking heavily and got “seriously depressed”.
Jeremy became a dad-of-two at the age of 50, when he and wife Lydia Metz gave daughter Scarlett, five, a brother in March last year after a gruelling IVF battle.
He is now a regular panellist on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff and stars in Christmas pantos.
Jason 'J' Brown
Ex-5ive star Jason ‘J’ Brown disappeared from public life after revealing he once attempted suicide.
In 2013 he refused to join his ex-bandmates to take part in the ITV2 series The Big Reunion.
They accused him of bullying, which he denied.
He said: “Stuff’s been said that’s actually not true and it has had a deep impact on me.”
J, now 44, who lives in London, also told how he went through major depression before he joined the hit 90s band.
Nick Carter
Backstreet Boys singer Nick was only 13 when he joined the band.
He battled drug addiction in his early teens, starting with marijuana and moving on to cocaine and ecstacy.
He enjoyed a high-profile relationship with heiress Paris Hilton in 2014.
Nick, 42, claimed in his 2013 book that Paris was a bad influence on him saying: “She fed my worst impulses as far as partying.”
But Paris hit back, claiming: “We dated for a very short period of time… when we met he was already a successful pop star, I’m pretty sure that was the only thing influencing him at the time.” Ouch!
Nick straightened up his act after a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy in 2008 and appeared in Dancing with the Stars.
He married actress Lauren Kitt in 2014 and they have three children together.
David Boreanaz
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star David was the grown-up babe magnet of the 90s, attracting millions of fans as vampire-turned-investigator Angel, and even got his own spin off.
David, 53, went on to play an FBI special agent Seeley Booth in the Fox comedy-drama series Bones and currently features in the SEAL team military show on CBS.
While on Bones he was accused of sexually harassing an extra called Kristina Hagan while an executive producer on the programme. The case was later dismissed by her lawyer with no reason given.
In 2010 Tiger Woods’ alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel claimed she had a fling with David.
He also confessed to cheating on his pregnant wife of nine years, Jaime Bergman, after an alleged extortion attempt by an unnamed former lover.
David and ex Playboy Playmate Jaime have two children together, and he claimed the affair brought them closer together.
He was previously married to social worker Ingrid Quinn for two years before divorcing her in 1999.
Joey Lawrence
His shaggy hairstyle and cute smile made Joey a 90s hit in the family sitcom Blossom.
During his five years on the show from 1990 to 1995, he also had a pop career with a single called Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix.
Over the past two decades he’s appeared in CSI, American Dreams and from 2010 to 2015 starred alongside another kid star, Melissa Joan Hart, in the sitcom Melissa and Joey.
