Robert Hugh Carvel, who goes by the name Bertie, was born on September 6, 1977, in Marylebone, London.

His acting credits include Doctor Foster, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Primeval and BBC fantasy epic Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.

He is also provided the narration on BBC wildlife documentary Big Cats.

Having trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Bertie is an accomplished theatre actor and has performed on both Broadway and the West End, scooping three awards for his work in Matilda The Musical.

They tied the knot on January 5, 2019 after dating for ten years.
