Who is Daniel Marreiros on Masterchef: The Professionals?

MASTERCHEF: The Professionals' 2021 is well underway, and the high-calabre cooking show's fourteenth series has an impressive list of chefs.

Let's meet Daniel Marreiros, the head chef at Theatreland's Volta do Mar, hoping to take home the title.

Who is Daniel on Masterchef: The Professionals?

Having been a chef for 9 years, Daniel Marreiros has worked on the London cookery scene since 2015.

The Masterchef: The Professionals hopeful is currently the head chef at Volta do Mar on Tavistock Street in Covent Garden.

The restaurant was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2021 and celebrates the diversity of Portuguese cuisine and its relationship with South America, Africa and Asia.

He has been the head chef for just over 2 years and was previously working at the restaurant as a sous chef.

Prior to this he was sous chef at Sunborn Yacht Hotel, and Dephesa of the Salt Yard Group – an Italian and Spanish tapas restaurant on Ganton Street.

Is he married and does he have kids?

There is nothing on Daniel's social media that would suggest he is in a relationship or has children.

However his love of fish and seafood is evident, as his Instagram feed is full of beautifully plated dishes.

When is MasterChef: The Professionals next on TV and how can I watch it?

The first episode of Masterchef: The Professionals aired on November 8, 2021.

You can watch the competition unfold three days a week for a total of two and a half hours of cooking content.

It airs on BBC One on Mondays for two 30-minute episodes at 7:30pm, and then at 8:30pm.

It then airs for a one-hour episode on Thursdays to wrap up each heat, and for a half-an-hour quarter final episode each Friday.
