Will Prince Harry Change Baby Sussex's Diapers?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child, and no one is more excited then Pince Harry. The Duke of Sussex has been talking about his little one since he and Markle first announced they were expecting in Oct. 2018. As we get closer and closer to the duchess‘ due date, the prince can’t stop gushing about the size of his baby, what type of dad he wants to be, and everything in between.

The duke and duchess are preparing to move away from their 2-bedroom cottage at Kensington Palace into a ten bedroom mansion at Frogmore House just outside of London where they can have more privacy for their little family. Though they seem like they will be hands-on parents–will Prince Harry also be changing diapers and getting up for the middle of the night feedings?

This evening The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the premiere of @Cirquedusoleil’s Totem – raising awareness and funds for @Sentebale's work supporting vulnerable children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa. Their Royal Highnesses met some of the cast members ahead of the show before taking their seats. The funds raised tonight will help @Sentebale – a charity founded in 2006 by The Duke with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho – with their work across Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi.

Will Prince Harry change Baby Sussex’s diapers?

Prince Harry adores children, and we think he’s going to follow in his big brother, Prince William’s footsteps and be super hands-on with his baby. After all, Prince William changed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ diapers without any issues.

In addition to his big brother’s example, Prince Harry has already had his own diaper changing experience. Back in 2013 just before Prince George was born, the Duke of Sussex participated in a charity event where he was tasked with changing a diaper on a doll. It did not go perfectly since the prince struggled to get the doll’s diaper snapped closed. At the time he quipped, “This is exactly how my brother is going to be. All the mothers will be saying, ‘Don’t let him near the children!” Look at how the tables have turned.

The adorable nickname Prince Harry has for Baby Sussex

It’s clear that Prince Harry is already obsessed with his little one. Recently, while he and the duchess were attending the Endeavour Fund Awards —Prince Harry commented on the size of his unborn child. The red-headed prince quipped while looking at his stunning wife, “there’s a heavy baby in her.”

He also already has the cutest nickname for Baby Sussex–the duke refers to his unborn child as “royal-to-be” and “our little bump.”

Do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know their baby’s gender?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have opted not to find out their baby’s gender, so it will be a total surprise to them when the duchess gives birth in April or May. This is probably for the best because it’s a massive royal no-no to reveal a gender before a baby is born.

The public will find out if Baby Sussex is a boy or a girl when Queen Elizabeth formally announces the little one’s birth. According to Katie Nicholl, the duke and duchess have opted for a gender-neutral nursery. She told Entertainment Tonight, “[A]ccording to sources who are helping with [their new home] renovations, the nursery itself is going to be very modern. Don’t expect to see any baby pink or baby blue. Apparently, it’s going to be a monochrome palette-whites and grays, I’m told, will be the color theme for baby Sussex’s nursery.”
