A mum-of-two has shared how she transformed her old fish pond into a swimming pool.
And it cost £70,000 to do so.
Taking inspiration from luxury hotels, 44-year-old Lyndsey Gynane, from Liverpool, decided to change her family’s koi carp pond into a spectacular spot for her family to relax.
The pool is 11 x 8 metres in size and even has its own fully-stocked mini-bar and seated fire pit for cooler nights.

It has taken the mum, who has 162,000 followers on social media, three months to complete the DIY project and now her ordinary British bungalow is on par with a lavish holiday villa.
‘It’s been incredible being able to use it over the heatwave,’ Lyndsey explains.
‘We had just finished the bar area too, so the timing couldn’t have been better.
‘We wanted a luxury hotel pool vibe, something that would stand out and have the “wow” factor.
‘We knew we could achieve this due to the size and shape of the pond – it was unique already it just needed a glow-up.’
With more than 95,000 views on her videos, Lyndsey’s impressive transformation has left people stunned and caused quite a reaction online, with one user commenting: ‘I’d be happy with this on holiday, let alone in my back garden.’
‘No need for you and hubby to head to Ibiza, you are bringing it to you,’ exclaimed another.
‘Not at all jealous by that view, the progress on the pool, the vision. Not one single bit,’ wrote a a third.
The busy mum was inspired by the family’s travels to Dubai – so hired a company to do the work.
However, her husband and brother got the pleasure of cleaning out the pond first.
‘We had to clean the pond out,’ she recalls. ‘It was like a swamp with dead rats, squirrels and there was even a fox in there.’
But the pool isn’t Lyndsey’s first big DIY project.
She also renovated a dull, semi-detached house into her dream home and added £110,000 to the value in the process.
After sharing the experience on Instagram, ex-mortgage broker Lyndsey was able to quit her job and make her living as a full-time renovation influencer and travel business owner.
Meanwhile, the DIY projects won’t end with the pool.
She now wants to add a cinema room and games room to her house.
‘Next, we are planning to make our place into a two-story house with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a cinema room, and a games room,’ she explains.
‘I will be launching my own online renovation course next year sharing how to budget, plan, and project manage your dream renovations.’
