Middleweight champion Chris Eubank spoke to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid about his illustrious career on Tuesday’s edition of Good Morning Britain for ITV. The boxer and TV presenter also shared an emotional tribute to his son, Sebastian Eubank, who died aged 29 in Dubai earlier this year.

Eubank’s son, Sebastian, died from a heart attack in Dubai in July of this year after he went for a sunset swim.

The boxing champion bravely recalled the experience of losing a close member of his family as he told the hosts: “You know, I’m on television so I have to be objective. I’m not going to break down.”

Despite his resilience, Eubank, 54, was still deeply affected by the loss of Sebastian over the summer.

“No parent can get over,” the boxer confirmed.

“You invested all this time from birth to 29, all this time, all this love and then he’s gone. You can’t recover from that.”

Eubank explained his son had been in Dubai to continue his charity work just days before his 30th birthday.

“I look at the life of Sebastian, Sebastian was a true champion,” he said.

“My son was a warrior in that he was out there to help the poor, the disenfranchised, the youth.”

He added his son was “big on Africa,” and recalled his part in the Sudanese protests throughout 2018-19.

Now Eubank will be taking on his legacy with a new foundation set up in his honour.

He will also be taking on the responsibility of looking after Sebastian’s surviving family, including his own son Raheem Sebastian who was born just one month before his death.

Although Eubank confirmed he won’t get over the physical loss of his son, he believed Sebastian is still with him in some way.
