An Australian man has died in his wife's arms following a freak climbing accident as they travelled in Canada.
The couple had only recently set off on what was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime when on Wednesday (October 5) Daniel Heritage, 28, fell in Calgary's Rocky Mountains.
He and his wife Emma had shared images online of their trip hiking through the Rockies that included Daniel swimming and climbing as they drank in the spectacular mountain scenery.

The precise circumstances of Daniel’s death still remain undisclosed, however, Emma’s twin, Jessica Bartel said that her sister had held her husband in her arms as he died.
Emma’s father has now flown to Canada to support his daughter, theMailOnlinereports.
Jessica said that, because she is a twin, she had felt very close to Daniel who she described as one of the most ambitious people she had ever known.
Speaking to the Advertiser, she said: “He felt like my brother way before they got married.
“One thing I loved most about him was the way he cared for others.

“You always felt heard by him.”
Emma and Daniel had built a home in the green Adelaide suburb of Valley View and often enjoyed going away together for long weekends adventuring.
Daniel, she said, was someone who would go out of his way to help others.
He and Emma had recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary and had planned to spend around two years in Canada.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with the expenses and has already raised over £14,000.
It read: “We would greatly appreciate any support to help ease the financial costs associated with travelling so suddenly and to support the families with funeral costs and other expenses,' Ms Bartel wrote on the campaign.
“We wanted to thank everyone for your kind words, love and support so far during this challenging time.
“Please continue to pray for Emma and our families as we navigate this lifelong grief.”
