One of the occupants of the car said: ‘An amazing situation when a deer appeared next to the car. 

‘He ran for a moment next to the vehicle, then jumped over the car and went on his way.’   

The footage, shot on Monday, has left viewers amazed.   

Jacinda Miguel said: ‘Wow what a leap and I’m speechless.’ Another user added: ‘What a magnificent beast.’

Behaviour like this is surprisingly common among deer, with a similar incident taking place in Slovakia in early April. 

The strikingly similar footage was filmed by a motorist who captured the stag running across the open land, as if racing the vehicle. 

The stunning creature refuses to slow down as it approaches the wide road before making an enormous leap over the road.

The impressive creature then dashes away leaving the driver to chuckle at the exceptional display.

There are many theories as to why deer and elk jump at moving cars with the most likely being that they are spooked by the encounters and act irrationally in their confusion. 

They also strive to link up with their herds and so will do anything to get to them, including these impressive leaps.
