Banksy has claimed artwork titled ‘Morning is Broken’ showing a boy opening curtains on the side of a derelict farmhouse – but it has already been demolished.
The mural depicted a silhouetted boy in a window unclosing curtains made of corrugated iron alongside a cat who is peering out at the view.
The anonymous street artist took to Instagram this morning to confirm the work in three photographs.
The piece is shown in a full-length shot of the derelict property in Kent, which is covered in ivy, has peeling white paintwork and missing roof slates on a side building.

There is a close-up of the artwork in another image, and the third photograph shows demolition work that is being carried out on the building.
The final photograph shows the wall on which the artwork originally appeared which has been demolished, with the image also showing a digger, a skip and a pile of brick rubble on the ground as a workman looks on.
Banksy wrote on his Instagram post: ‘Morning is broken.’
The skip company said the bin which appears in one of the photographs was at a property in the seaside town of Herne Bay, Kent, and its only involvement in the project was in providing the bin.
Pieces of the art were fished from the rubble and skip bins this afternoon, according to The Sun.

The mural had originally been on the bricked-up window of the 500-year-old farmhouse near Herne Bay.
Workers on site said they ‘felt sick’ when they learned it was a Banksy mural.
One of the contractors, George Caudwell, said: ‘We had no idea it was a Banksy.
‘It made me feel sick realising it was a Banksy – we were gutted.
‘We started demolishing it yesterday.’
He added that the landowner watched as they tore the building down and didn’t realise either.
