First steps of Andrei Skoch’s career path
Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch was born in the Nikolskoye village, Moscow region, Russia. He has been involved in lawmaking for more than 20 years as a deputy of the State Duma and many of his initiatives have come into force. Before his political career, he was engaged in several business projects. Andrei Vladimirovich has also founded his own humanitarian organization “Pokoleniye” (“Generation”).
In the 1990s, Andrei Skoch took up entrepreneurship. He became a shareholder of Alisher Usmanov’s company Interfin, which after the reorganization was transformed into the Metalloinvest Group of Companies. He handed his assets to his father Vladimir Skoch when he decided to develop a career in a new field — in politics.
Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch became a deputy of the State Duma of Russia in 1999. He was elected from the Belgorod region and won more than 50% of the votes.
Charity
Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch opened the charitable foundation “Generation” in 1996. Today, it implements various social programs in such areas as medicine, education, sports, etc. So, the Belgorod Region, especially the city of Belgorod received significant assistance from the Generation Foundation: the organization financed the construction of several medical centers in the region and purchased the latest equipment for them.
The charitable foundation “Generation” has many projects in Belgorod aimed at supporting athletes and sports organizations. The total amount of funding for such initiatives is more than 135 million rubles.
The awards established by the Generation Foundation
The Foundation also supports poor families, literary talents, Second World War veterans, doctors, scientists, active students, people with disabilities and many others in need. For example, the organization founded the literary award “Debut” for the young authors under the age of 35 for the best works written in Russian. The winners in each of the nominations have received 1 million rubles.
The “Healthy Childhood” Award was awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of pediatric medicine. The premium fund was 2 million rubles. In addition, Andrei Skoch’s charity organization has allocated hundreds of millions of rubles for the implementation of programs for the restoration of military graves.
Andrei Skoch’s awards
The deputy has received many medals and orders for his contribution to the social and economic life of the country, as well as for the development of important social projects. He was awarded the Order of “Merit to the Fatherland”, II degree, for the assistance provided to people with disabilities. In addition, Andrei Skoch Vladimirovich was awarded the medal “For Services to the Belgorod Land” of the I degree for the development of the Belgorod region.
In 2008, Andrei Skoch received a Certificate of Honor from the State Duma of the Russian Federation for his contribution to the development of the country’s legislation, and in 2009 — a Letter of Acknowledgement from the President of Russia for his charitable work. In 2014, the deputy was awarded a commendation from the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for fruitful legislative activity, and in 2015 he was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
