Police searching for a missing army veteran last seen more than a week ago when she vanished from her home have found a body.
Chelsea Allen, 31, was reported missing on June 26 when she vanished at 3am on foot with no phone or money from her home in Helmsley, North Yorkshire.
Police deployed sniffer dogs and drones in a major search aided by a mountain rescue team, but today it was confirmed a body had been found in woodland near Helmsley.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said her death is not believed to be suspicious.

Chelsea’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Police said: ‘Although formal identification has not been confirmed at this stage, officers believe the body to be that of Chelsea Allen. The circumstances are currently not believed to be suspicious.
‘The family of Chelsea Allen have been informed of this news and are currently being supported.’
Chelsea was reported missing last Sunday after not being seen since the early hours of the morning.

In the following days there was an extensive search, which involved the police and a mountain rescue team.
A police helicopter and off-road bikes were also used in the search for the army veteran, who family said had a ‘heart of gold’.
The police spokesperson added: ‘Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance with sharing the appeals to find Chelsea.’
