Snow is on the way to Colorado again Wednesday, and some areas southeast could see up to a foot of snow, but Denver isn’t likely to see too much of it.

Low-level dry air will inhibit snowfall across most of the state, and the mountains are only expected to get widespread light snow during the day as the system moves into the state.

Later in the day, moisture arrives, bringing a little bit more favorable chances of snow.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder said they still think snowfall is likely to make it to the ground in Denver, most likely in the early evening, but less than an inch is expected.

Even without the snow, highs in Denver will drop a few degrees from previous days to 45 degrees, and the low is 22 degrees.

The foothills west and southwest of Denver will have less dry air to contend with and could see a few inches of snow.

Areas north and east of Denver will have more dry air and may only see a dusting of snow.

In the southeast corner of the state, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains are in a winter storm warning as heavy snow of up to a foot could fall and winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

There is another slight chance of snow in Denver Thursday morning, and temperatures will be cooler, with a high of 42 degrees. Friday and Saturday are still expected to warm back up to the high 40s.
