The Colorado dad accused of slaying his entire family appeared entirely emotionless following his arrest, according to a report.
When Chris Watts, 33, was booked at Weld County Jail Aug. 15 for the murders of his pregnant wife Shanann, 34, and their two daughters, “He looked like he couldn’t be bothered by the whole thing,” a source close to the investigation told People.
He “showed no emotion the entire time” as he had his mugshot and fingerprints taken, said the source, who was the outlet said was present for the booking.
The day before he was busted, Watts gave stilted interviews to local TV stations outside his home pleading for the safe return of his family – who were reported missing Aug. 13.
His stoic demeanor baffled onlookers.
“He didn’t seem upset at all,” neighbor Terry Witt had observed.
The bodies of Shanann Watts and her girls, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, were found on a property owned by an oil and gas company that Chris had worked for, hours after he was arrested.
Investigators say Chris Watts admitted to murdering his wife, claiming he did so because she strangled their kids after finding out he wanted to separate.
Authorities don’t seem to buy his explanation and have charged him with murder in the three deaths, as well as unlawful termination of a pregnancy.
