Desperate hunt launched to find kayaker, 25, who went missing on Bank Holiday Monday

A DESPERATE search is underway today to find a kayaker who went missing on Bank Holiday Monday.

Jordan Lane, 25, was last heard from at around 6pm yesterday while kayaking off the coast of Poole, Dorset.

He was due to travel in his kayak from Canford Cliffs back to his home in Barton-on-Sea – but has not returned.

Extensive searches were carried out to try and find him last night and the hunt resumed this morning.

Dorset Police, Southbourne Coastguard, Poole Coastguard, RNLI Mudeford, RNLI Poole and the Coastguard helicopter are all involved in the search.

Jordan is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and of a slim muscular build with short dark hair and dark eyes. He was last seen wearing green shorts and a long sleeved shirt.

His kayak is described as an orange Wave Sport kayak which is two metres long.

Chief Inspector Lance Cliff, of Dorset Police, said: “The search for Jordan is continuing, but unfortunately we have so far not been able to find him.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Jordan, or a man matching the description given, to please contact us.

“We would also like to hear for anyone who was out on the water in the area yesterday evening who recalls seeing a kayaker matching the description given and may have information that could help us.”
