A stunned footie fan who was mistaken for a Premiere League star poses for pictures and signs autographs for ‘hundreds’ of fans as he plays along with the mix-up.
Aston Villa fan Amando Boakye arrived at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia, Spain last Saturday to watch his favourite team play, but hilarious footage shows he was quickly surrounded by spectators.
The 23-year-old spent an hour interacting with local supporters who ‘thought he was a player’ – largely due to his sky blue training top complete with a squad number and slim fit jogging bottoms.
Amando, who had travelled from Ghana to watch his first live game, says ‘it was a dream come true’ to be treated like one of his heroes.
He believes he was mistaken for Villa’s Jacob Ramsey. The charity-worker attracted a crowdof more than 200 people and added that he didn’t want to let down the ‘determined’ fans by telling them the truth.
Amando Boakye, 23, is pictured in last year’s Aston Villa training kit, which confused some spectators at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia into thinking the superfan was a player

The superfan’s video of the incident has been viewed more than 600,000 times and received almost 4,000 likes on Twitter, with one social media user commenting: ‘Haha. F**king priceless. A young fellas dream come true.’
Another said: ‘I have no idea what is happening in this footage. I don’t think our man [Amando] does either.’
A third user added: ‘I’m sure they think you are Villa’s new signing. Great act though.’
Amando, from Juaben, Ashanti Region, Ghana, said: ‘It felt like I was a player and I was living my dream of playing for Aston Villa.’
He said he was shocked when even before the game, as he walked through the city centre, people thought he was a player.
‘I was wearing last season’s training top and it was completely different from what everybody was wearing over there,’ he said.
‘When I got to the stadium some people came to me and asked for a photo and I just said “no problem”, then many people came. I drew a crowd of more than 200.

‘People wanted autographs and pictures and I did them for an hour before the game. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.
‘They were eager to take the pictures with me so I felt I had to do it to make them happy. I was relaxed and doing it for them like a professional.’
Amando, who runs an Aston Villa fan group Ghana Lions, is staying in Luxembourg with a friend and travelled to Valencia for the game.
He claims the 2-1 victory was the ‘best moment of his life’ and he hopes to one day visit England and watch his team at their home ground Villa Park in Birmingham.
