GHISLAINE Maxwell was so close to Prince Andrew she visited him four times in one day at Buckingham Palace and even enjoyed intimate picnics in view of the Queen's bedroom window, a former royal aide has claimed.
The Brit socialite has been named by victims of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein as his 'madam' who groomed girls for sex with the paedo and his rich and famous friends.
'Sex slave' Virginia Roberts said Maxwell forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew on three occasions when she was 17-years-old in 2001.
The Duke of York has denied the claims and in a BBC Newsnight interview last year, claimed he and Maxwell were 'not that close'.
But former royal protection officer Paul Page – who worked with Andrew between 1998 and 2004 – has hit back at the prince's claims, saying Maxwell was a close friend who had regular secretive visits to the palace.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "The first occasion I had cause to meet Ghislaine was when the privy purse phoned down and said, ‘We’ve got a guest coming for Andrew but the name is not to be entered in the book’. That was about 2001.
"She turned up in a chauffeur-driven Range Rover and we let her in. Half an hour after that me and my colleague walked through the garden to go back to the police lodge and he was having a picnic with her by the summer house, opposite the Queen’s bedroom window.
"One of my colleagues saw her come in and out the Palace four times in one day."
ANDREW E-MAILED MAXWELL AFTER SEX CLAIMS
Leaked e-mails appeared to show Prince Andrew begging Jeffrey Epstein's former partner Ghislaine Maxwell to help him just hours after 'sex slave' accuser Virginia Roberts named him in US court papers.
A BBC Panorama documentary revealed e-mails allegedly sent between Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.
The e-mails were sent after Virginia Roberts lodged court papers in Florida claiming she had been forced to have sex with Prince Andrew.
The Duke is said to have written: "Let me know when we can talk. Got some specific questions to ask you about Virginia Roberts."
Ms Maxwell replies: "Have some info. Call me when you have a moment."
The court papers were later struck from US civil court records when a judge ruled them “immaterial and impertinent” to allegations against Epstein.
Ms Roberts, now 35, says she was trafficked for sex by US billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and flown by private jet to London where she was ordered to have sex with Prince Andrew.
She alleges she was later forced to have sex twice more in New York and the US Virgin Islands as a 17-year-old in 2001.
Epstein took his own life, aged 66, in August after being arrested on suspicion of sex trafficking.
He had previously been jailed for procuring teens for prostitution in 2008 – three years before Andrew was pictured visiting the paedophile in New York.
Once photographed in the pages of glossy magazines on the social circuits of London and New York, Maxwell has vanished from public life since Epstein's death and appears to have taken extraordinary lengths to keep her whereabouts a secret.
Her last known public appearance was in June at a charity supercar rally in Geneva, two weeks after it was announced the investigation into Epstein would be re-opened.
She is understood to have met the Duke of York on June 5 – the day before the rally – in London.
Speaking in the bombshell BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew said his last contact with Maxwell was "earlier this year funnily enough in the summer, in the spring, summer" but denied discussing Epstein.
Maxwell, the daughter of British media tycoon Robert Maxwell, was raised in Oxfordshire and still has significant ties to the UK.
She still owns the £3.7m mews house in Belgravia, London, where Prince Andrew appears in a picture with his arm round Virginia Roberts on the first floor of the property.
Ms Roberts says the picture was taken on the night she was forced to have sex with him in March 2001.
The Duke of York said he has 'no recollection' of meeting her and doubted the authenticity of the picture in an interview with BBC Newsnight.
