A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl has died after a "medical emergency" at a house as an air ambulance scrambled to the scene.

Cops and emergency services rushed to a property on Chapel Lane in Pwllmeyric, Wales, at around 8.20am.

The response team included a Wales Air Ambulance.

Cops confirmed the youngster was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a medical emergency at an address in Chapel Lane, Pwllmeyric at around 8.20am on Thursday, January 26.

"Officers attended, along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Welsh Air Ambulance, who confirmed that a two-year-old girl had died at the scene."

No further details regarding the sudden death of the child, or the child's identity, have been released.
