A member of Vladimir Putin’s youth army has gone on a knife rampage at a school, stabbing four.

Three members of staff and the relative of a pupil were injured in the attack in Russia with a 15-year-old suspect having now been apprehended.

The suspect, named Grigory Belyaev, said he was “scared” before he allegedly carried out the attack and said he saw Ukrainians and Poles.

The suspect is a pupil at the school in Krasny Desant village, Rostov region, with the attacker wearing an Anonymous or Guy Fawkes mask during the rampage.

Reports from law enforcement claim the attacker used his grandmother’s kitchen knife.

Regional governor Vasily Golubev said: “The attacker has been stopped by witnesses. He turned out to be a 9th-form student.”

Historic images of the child have been found showing him wearing the uniform of Yunarmia, or Young Army, which has been accused of militarising young people in the past.

Larisa Shakhovaya, a security guard, and English teacher Yulia Naumenko both were wounded in the hand as they tried to subdue the suspect.

He is understood to have eventually been halted by parents.

One student’s grandfather was also injured in the incident.

Police are understood to have been told by the suspect that he wanted to attack his social studies teacher for giving him “poor grades”.

At the time of writing, the conditions of the injured remain unknown as does the status of the school.
