IDF claims assassination of head of Hamas aerial operations
Israel’s attacks on Hamas will be the end of the terrorist group and its grip on Gaza, a peace negotiator who is in contact with the fighters told Daily Express US.
The Israeli Defense Force ramped up its bombardment in Gaza on Friday night while also expanding its ground operations in the enclave.
The attacks come as part of Israel’s plan to “destroy Hamas” and take out their military infrastructure.
Gershon Baskin, the director of the International Communities Organization who negotiated the release of a hostage from Hamas in 2011, believes this Israeli assault is different from those that have come in the past.

He tells Daily Express US that he has been in contact with Hamas, and tried to warn them that this will be their end politically.
Mr Baskin said: “They will also say quite openly ‘we are not afraid to die, if the Israelis attack us on the ground we will kill a lot of them, we will have surprises for them, they shouldn’t underestimate our power.’
“‘We are not afraid, let them come. We will kill them.’
“I can’t see a scenario where this ends with Hamas in place, but when I tell them ‘this is your end’, that Hamas won’t be governing Gaza, they say we will fight to the death.”
Hamas has ruled the Gaza Strip since 2007 after Israel’s withdrawal from the enclave in 2005.
